I cannot completely remove all the mixture from the iSi Whipper.

When using cream or cream-based preparations, the cream or the dessert may become too stiff if it is shaken for too long, meaning that the mixture cannot be completely removed.

TIP: Observe the recommended shaking frequensies for cream:
• Fresh cream (fat content of 36%) should be shaken a maximum of 3 times.
• Fresh cream (fat content of 32%) should be shaken a maximum of 4-5 times.
• Do not shake the iSi Whipper between individual portions.

The iSi Whipper was not operated with the head pointing downwards. The pressure was therefore lost prematurely and the iSi Whipper can no longer be emptied completely.

TIP: Always keep the iSi Whipper with the head pointing downwords. In a vertical position, the gas cannot completely press the mixture out of the bottle and residue will be left in the bottle.

Not enough cream chargers have been used. Only use original iSi Chargers with your iSi Whipper! The iSi system, iSi Cream Chargers and iSi Whippers have been designed in line with each other and therefore guarantee top quality.

The following number of chargers will be required depending on the iSi Whipper size:
1 iSi charger for 0.25 L and 0.5 L iSi Whippers
2 iSi chargers for the 1 L iSi Whippers

The basic mixture is too stiff.

TIP: Reduce the amount of gelatin or the proportion of binding agent in the recipe.

 

I cannot remove the content of the filled iSi Whipper.

The mixture has become too solid during cooling.

TIP:  Leave the iSi Whipper to stand at room temperature for 5-10 minutes, or briefly hold under hot water. Vigorously shake the iSi Whipper downwards in order to bring the mixture to the head of the iSi Whipper.
The mixture contains small kernels or bits which do not pass through the piston.

TIP:  Hold a cloth over the tip and carefully relieve the pressure inside the iSi Whipper. Then open the bottle and empty out the mixture. Pass the mixture through a fine mesh sieve and then put back into the cleaned iSi Whipper. Screw on the right number of iSi Cream Chargers for the iSi Whipper and shake after each charger.

 

The mixture only comes out of the iSi Whipper in spurts or the lever is hard to operate.

The mixture contains kernels, seeds or bits that are blocking the valve.

TIP: In order to clean a blocked valve, you will have to release the gas in the iSi Whipper. In order to do this, place the iSi Whipper with the head upwards and hold a dishcloth over the tip; then activate the lever. The gas can then escape. When the gas stops flowing or you cannot hear a hissing noise anymore, then you can open the iSi Whipper and clean the required parts.

 

During the preparation of a recipe the valve has become blocked and the mixture cannot be removed.

Make sure that your iSi Whipper is actually designed for the preparation of espumas, sauces or desserts (see instructions for use).
If you include additives with the cream, these must be in liquid or powder form, and they must be dissolved or stirred into a small amount of cream before being added. Otherwise, clumping may occur and block the emptying system.

TIP: In order to clear a blocked valve, you will have to release the gas in the iSi Whipper. In order to do this, place the iSi Whipper with the head upwards and hold a dishcloth over the tip; then activate the lever. The gas can then escape. When the gas stops flowing or you cannot hear a hissing noise anymore, then you can open the iSi Whipper and clean the required parts.

 

I cannot unscrew the head on my iSi Whipper:

First release the pressure: Place the iSi Whipper upright, place a towel over the outlet and gently activate the lever (push-button) until the pressure is released from the iSi Whipper. Now the head can be removed from the bottle. If the head still cannot be removed, please send the complete iSi Whipper to the iSi service center.

 

The mixture in the iSi Whipper does not go stiff.

For the iSi Thermo Whip and iSi Thermo XPress Whip: Leave the mixture to cool uncovered in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before closing the iSi Whipper and screwing on a charger.

Not enough cream chargers have been used. Only use original iSi Cream Chargers with your iSi Whipper! The iSi system, iSi Cream Chargers and iSi Whipper have been designed in line with each other and therefore guarantee top quality.

The iSi Whipper does not seal properly. It loses pressure prematurely.

Make sure that the decorator nozzle is always attached before introducing the gas to the iSi Whipper.

Make sure that the head gasket is inserted and not damaged.

Check that the iSi Whipper head has been properly cleaned.

If you add additives to the mixture, these must be in liquid or powder form, and they must be dissolved or stirred into some cream beforehand. Otherwise, clumping may occur and block the emptying system. If the emptying system is blocked by clumps, pieces of fruit or seeds, spices that are too course or similar items, this can also cause the emptying system to not seal properly.

 

After cleaning in the dishwasher, there is a kind of white film on the head.

Make sure that your iSi Whipper is dishwasher safe (see instructions for use).

Under certain circumstances, e.g. at high cleaning temperatures, with too long a contact time or too high a ph value of the cleaning agent, it can happen that a light white or gray-colored film can build up on the metal head. This does not impair the functionality of the iSi Whipper in any way. Do not scrape. Do not use scouring agents.

 

How long does the mixture keep in the iSi Whipper?

The mixture can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 1 week and does not have to be emptied every day.

The sealed system means that the products can be kept for longer.

 

Is my iSi Whipper suitable for hot preparations?

Only iSi stainless steel Cream Whippers with a red silicone ring are suitable for hot preparations.

The following iSi Whipper are suitable for hot preparations:
iSi Gourmet Whip
iSi Thermo Whip
Thermo Xpress Whip

 

Can I put the iSi Whipper in a hot water bath or in a bain-marie?

The iSi Gourmet Whip can be kept warm at max. 75°C in a bain-marie or water bath.
The iSi Thermo Whip and iSi Thermo XPress Whip must not be put in a bain-marie or a water bath.

 

The mixture in the iSi Thermo Whip or iSi Thermo XPress Whip has cooled down. How can I heat it up again?

The iSi Thermo Whip and iSi Thermo XPress Whip must not be put in a bain-marie or a water bath. Spoon the mixture directly from the iSi Whipper into a saucepan and heat it up. Put it back into the iSi Whipper and screw on the right number of iSi Cream Chargers for the iSi Whipper size. Shake vigorously every time a charger is screwed on.

 

How can I dispose of the chargers? Can the chargers be recycled?

After use, the chargers can be disposed of in the metal waste. As they are made of high-grade steel, the chargers are removed from the rubbish using magnets and are then recycled.

 

Can I use bottle components from other companies with iSi components?

You should only use iSi original components. The individual components of iSi Whippers are designed to provide optimal operation and safety when used together. Never combine third party components with iSi Whipper parts because we cannot provide any guarantee for them. iSi heads are marked as such on the head and charger holder; iSi bottles are marked with iSi on the base.

 

— Soda Siphons —

My Soda Siphon immediately sprays out water at the head after I have screwed on the charger.

Never fill the bottle without using the measuring tube. The measuring tube must sit securely in the bottle neck. The bottle is full when the water starts to spill out of the measuring tube. Do not try to add more water by tilting or shaking the bottle.

 

My soda has hardly any carbonation. What is the reason for this?

Observe the following points during preparation:

Fill the bottle with cold water.
After screwing on the charger, shake the siphon a min. of 5 times.
If the water is cold when poured in and the siphon is kept in a cool place, then the soda water will be particularly fizzy.

 

Can I use bottle components from other companies with iSi components?

You should only use iSi original components. The individual components of iSi Soda Siphons are designed to provide optimal operation and safety when used together. Never combine third party components with iSi Soda Siphon parts because we cannot provide any guarantee for them. iSi heads are marked as such on the head and charger holder; iSi bottles are marked with iSi on the base.

 

Can I put juices or alcohol in the iSi Soda Siphon?

The iSi Soda Siphon is only suitable for the preparation of water.
